GAVIN ROSSDALE Talks Doing Guest Vocals On APOCALYPTICA Single
July 23, 2010BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale appears on "End Of Me", the new single from Finnish rock cello act APOCALYPTICA. Rossdale also appears in the song's video. The Pulse of Radio recently caught up with Rossdale, who talked about how it sounded to hear his vocals in front of their cellos. "They just sound, actually the way they play them, like the most pristine, clear, heavy guitars," he said. "Quite amazing how they play them, and they're pretty much virtuoso musicians, I think. They sent me a song and they asked me to sing it, I just was like, 'Sure, I'd love to do this,' you know. And then went in and sang it and, yeah, it was fun. They got funny accents, those guys, but they're great."
"End Of Me" will appear "7th Symphony", which arrives on August 24. It follows up 2008's "Worlds Collide", the first album from the Finnish rock cello quartet to break through in the U.S.
Rossdale isn't the only guest performer on the new APOCALYPTICA set. Also appearing is SHINEDOWN frontman Brent Smith, along with FLYLEAF singer Lacey Mosley and vocalist Joseph Duplantier of French metal act GOJIRA.
APOCALYPTICA will launch a headlining North American tour on August 23 in Toronto, finishing up on September 12 in Seattle.
Meanwhile, a new BUSH album, called "Everything Always Now", is tentatively set to come out in October. The first single, out now, is called "Afterlife".
